The amount had been 41.6 the preceding year, which itself had seen a rise of 15 billion cubic meters compared to the year before.

The daily delivery of gas at power plants during the current year stood at 170 million cubic meters, the official said.

He went on to say that gas consumed by the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors in the past 24 hours reached 450 million cubic meters, 30 million more than the same day last year.

These sectors consumed 58.3 billion cubic meters in the current Iranian year, he added.

Relying on huge gas reserves, Iran has replaced liquid fuels with gas in the housing, industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors as well as into power plants.
