Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) produced 144 million barrels of oil from its fields in the Persian Gulf over the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20).

Saeid Hafezi, the head of the IOOC, said that several leading international companies have launched talks with his company to discuss cooperation following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in January, IRNA news agency reported.

He said that the implementation of the JCPOA has created proper grounds for cooperation and investment in Iran.

He said companies from France, Netherlands, Norway, Australia, Singapore and China are interested in cooperation with the IOOC as Iran's offshore projects require state-of-the-art technologies.

Hafezi earlier said that his company's capacity for producing oil was below 500,000 barrels per day and the company was planning to increase the capacity to 800,000 barrels per day within the next three years.

Sorush, Nowruz, Esfandiar, Abouzar, Alvand, Sirous, and Sivand are among IOOC's main oil fields in the Persian Gulf.
