Iran’s housing gas usage reaches 290 mcm/d

Gas consumption in Iran’s housing sector is expected to reach 290 million cubic meters per day on Oct.26, Mehdi Jamshidi Dana, dispatching director of National Iranian Gas Company told Shana news agency.

Iran’s gas consumption in housing sector increased by 100 mcm/d to 260 mcm/d during the current week in average, compared to last week.

As the cold season approaches, Iran’s housing sector is expected to increase consumption. The housing gas usage level in winter is three plus times more than summer.

Iran’s housing sector used more than 249 mcm/d last fiscal year in average, ended on March 21.

Iran produced about 520 mcm/d of commercial gas last year, totally consumed domestically.

Iran imported about 9 bcm/d of gas from Turkmenistan and exported 8.4 bcm to Turkey las fiscal year.
