The Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran known as IDRO Group is going to help build 2,000 wagons.
The wagons will be built with a domestic share of 55 percent and will be used in nine large cities of the country, according to Fardad Daliri, IDRO’s deputy for investment development, IRNA news agency reported November 23.
“The investment needed for making the wagons has been estimated at 2 billion euros, which will be provided by foreign companies and the National Development Fund,” he said.
Iran has been assembling wagons so far. The new plan is aimed at importing the technology while building wagons.
A German company has been chosen as partner in building the wagons.
