Russia has given tariff discounts on 24 goods imported from Iran, according to Iran’s Deputy Minister of ICT Mehdi Mohtashami.
The goods under discussion include poultry, aquatics, and dairy products, whose tariffs were minimized or reduced to zero, he said, IRNA news agency reported December 11.
He further said Iran and Russia are holding serious talks over joining the tariff system of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“Attempt is being made as we enter the union we reduce the tariffs on 50 to 60 goods to zero in order not to open the Russia market, but many of the countries that are member to the union,” the Iranian official said.
In the first seven months of the current Iranian year (since March 20), Iran exported worth $86.5 million goods to Russia.
