Iran has targeted exporting worth of $50 million of fishery products over the current fiscal year (ending March 21).

Hassan Salehi, an Iranian deputy agricultural minister, has said that the country exported worth of $350 million of fishery products last year which is projected to reach $400 million over the current year, IRNA news agency reported.

The official saying that the country produced and exported over 120,000 tons of shrimps over the last year, he further forecasted that this year’s figure would hit 14,000 tons.

According to the official, the county’s imports of agricultural products in the meantime have witnessed a decline reaching $3 million from the last year’s $9 million.

He further added that the country’s current agricultural production stands at 120 million tons.
