The Iranian government helped put 5,000 unfinished industrial units to function during the current fiscal year (which will end March 20), First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said.
These included 33 large industrial factories, he said, adding that in the meantime 22,000 small and mid-size industries used banking facilities to get back on their feet, IRIB TV reported February 28.
“There are currently 80,000 unfinished governmental projects in the country. To accomplish them, 5 quadrillion rials ($155 billion, each USD at 32,258 rials) is needed. But the fact is that in the best of years, only 300 trillion rials has been allotted to developmental projects.”
According to Jahangiri, during the current fiscal year the government privatized 2,500 unfinished projects.
On the post-sanctions investments, Jahangiri said, “After the JCPOA, $11 billion investment has been attracted to Iran, $7 billion of which was made during the current fiscal year.”
“Also, the Ministry of Petroleum has said it has prepared up to $200 billion projects for foreign financing.”
