Iran has produced 50 million tons of petrochemical products since the beginning of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20, 2016), setting a new record with 8 percent improvement year-on-year.
In the meantime, Iran’s petrochemical and polymer products sales in the domestic market grew by 10 percent, said Ali Mohammad Bosaqzadeh, director of product control at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Mehr news agency reported March 6.
Commenting on what contributed to the output growth, Bosaqzadeh cited an increase in feed from new South Pars phases and the coming on stream of new projects.
NPC chief Marzieh Shahdaei recently said that Iran’s petrochemical output is expected to reach 51 million tons by the end of the current Iranian year.
“This year petrochemical products export also should hit 20 million tons and be worth $9.5 billion,” she had noted.
