Slovakia prepared to issue €100M bank guarantee for Iran

Slovakia is prepared to issue bank guarantees worth 100 million euros to Iran, the country’s Finance Minister Peter Kažimír said in a meeting with officials from the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) in Tehran.

He also said that during his visit to Iran, a Slovakian company and an Iranian partner signed an agreement worth 30 million euros, IRNA news agency reported March 8.

According to Mr. Kažimír, companies from his country are holding talks with Iranian partners over wagon building for Iranian railways. He said his country is looking into a 70-million-euro business in wagon building in Iran.

Elsewhere in a meeting with the Slovakian delegation, Iran’s Minister of Economy Ali Tayyebnia appreciated Slovakia as the rotating head of the EU for improving Iran’s credit risk rating in the EU’s records.
