Iran’s steel output over the first half of the current year has surged by 13.7 percent compared to the same period of time last year.
According to the latest data released by the World Steel Association, the Islamic Republic produced over 9.94 million tons of crude steel over the first six months of 2017.
This is while the country’s output level in June surpassed 1.7 million tons, indicating a growth of 16.4 percent year on year.
World crude steel production for the 67 countries reporting to the World Steel Association was 141 million tons in June 2017, a 3.2 percent increase compared to June 2016.
This is while, world crude steel production was 836 million tons in the first half of 2017, up by 4.5 percent compared to the same period in 2016.
