Iran’s monthly car production increases

Over 135,251 cars were produced in Iran during the last Iranian month (Oct. 22-Nov. 22), 4.6 percent more year-on-year.

Iranian car manufacturers produced 126,005 passenger cars (including sedans and SUVs) in the one-month period, registering a 4 percent increase compared to the same month of the preceding year, according to the Iranian industry ministry.

Iranian car makers also produced 7,569 pick-ups in the period, 6.4 percent more year-on-year.

The country’s monthly minibus and van output stood at 122 and 67 vehicles.

While minibus production registered a rise by 171.1 percent, Iran’s van output surged by 294.1 percent.

Iran’s monthly bus and truck output also stood at 151 (a 55.7 percent increase) and 1,337 (a 52.1 percent increase), respectively.

Over 1.350 million cars were produced in Iran in the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).

The country has not published yet the detailed report about the overall car production during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Nov. 22), but the preliminary report suggests that Iranian automakers have manufactured 817,715 passenger cars in the 8-month term, 16.7 percent more year-on-year.

Over 1.350 million cars were produced in Iran in the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).

Iran’s car output reached 982,337 units in 2015, according to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). The figure indicated a 9.9-percent fall compared to the preceding year.
