Iran’s car output experienced decline in the last fiscal month, after witnessing growth for several months, following the removal of the international sanctions in 2016.
Iranian auto manufacturers produced over 108,334 cars during the one-month period from May 21 to June 21, 19.6 percent less year-on-year.
According to the Iranian official statistics, the country manufactured 101,791 passenger cars in the same span of time, 20.4 percent less year-on-year.
Iranian car makers produced 4,467 pick-ups in the period, registering a fall by 15.6 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.
Meanwhile the country’s minibus output witnessed rise by 150.6 percent to 208, however the bus output registered a fall by 46.1 percent, year-on-year.
Iranian auto makers manufactured 76 buses in the third calendar month of the current fiscal year.
Iran’s van output registered a 19.3 percent fall and stood at 92 vehicles in the one-month period. In the same time, the country’s truck output increased by 29.5 percent and stood at 1,700 units.
Iran’s auto industry registered a production growth by 9.4 percent in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, started March 20, 2018 and witnessed production of 336,699 cars.
Iranian car manufacturers produced 1.535 million vehicles in last fiscal year, 13.7 percent more year-on-year.
Iran manufactured 1.44 million passenger cars in the 12-month period, which was 14.8 percent more compared to the preceding year.
Over 1.350 million cars were produced in Iran in the Iranian fiscal year to March 20, 2017.
Iran’s car output reached 982,337 units in 2015, according to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). The figure indicated a 9.9-percent fall compared to the preceding year.
