Iran’s Bushehr NPP to be recommissioned

After major repairs and fuel deployments, the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran’s southern Bushehr Province will be recommissioned, said Hossein Ghaffari, Head of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, Trend reports referring to Tasnim News Agency.

According to him, the power plant had temporarily ceased its operation on February 26 due to repairs.

Ghaffari stated that the plant produced 7.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018).

"6.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were supplied to Iran's electricity grid," he said.

Ghaffari also said that it is being planned to produce 7.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant this year (started March 21, 2019).

He noted that the power plant has a high degree of security.

"It is very important to be prepared to deal with various possible incidents in accordance with the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency. To this end, a radiation drill will be held in Bushehr this week," he said.
