Iran discloses number of unemployed in Tehran province

The number of unemployed reached 564,695 people in Iran’s Tehran province last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), Deputy Chairman of the Management and Planning Organization of Tehran province Masud Afshin said.

Thus, 12.2 percent accounted for the unemployed in Tehran province, Afshin added, Trend reports referring to ILNA.

He said that last Iranian year about 4.05 million people (87.8 percent) accounted for working class in the province.

Last Iranian year, the population of Tehran province reached 13.6 million people, Afshin said.

According to the statistics, the economically active population of Tehran province is 4.6 million people (39.8 percent) and the economically inactive population - about 7 million people (60.2 percent).

The economically inactive population consists of schoolchildren, housewives and people who make money without working.
