Iran's Persian Gulf Special Industrial Zone exports $1.6B worth of products

Goods worth $1.6 billion worth of goods were exported from the Persian Gulf Special Industrial Zone in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province last Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), said Hassan Khalaj Tehrani, Executive Director of the Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone of Hormozgan Province, Trend reports referring to the economic zone’s website.

Tehrani said that the weight of exported products reached 5.89 million tons. Steel, zinc and aluminum products made up the bulk of exports from this zone, he added.

Khalaj Tehrani said that an increase in production and exports is expected this year (started March 21, 2019). Investments are being directed to this area based on bilateral economic and trade agreements, so as to speed up the development of the zone.
