This Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), mushroom production is projected to reach 177,000 tons, said Mohammad Ali Tahmasebi, deputy director for horticulture issues at the Iranian Agriculture Ministry, Trend reports via IANA.
He said that about 165,000 tons of mushrooms were grown in the country last Iranian year.
He added that Tehran province holds the first place in terms of mushroom growing with 36,000 tons of mushrooms and Alborz province holds the second place with 25,000 tons of mushrooms.
Iran holds the sixth place in the world in growing of mushrooms, he said.
