Mining reserves of Iran's Kerman province significantly up

Reserves of the mines discovered in Iran's Kerman province have increased by one billion ton, Chairman of Kerman Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Mehdi Hosseininejad said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Presently, the total reserves of the mines in Kerman province have reached 5.7 billion tons, Hosseininejad said.

He added that exploring work at the province's mines is ongoing and great attention is being paid to the matter.

Production of copper cathode in Kerman province is planned to be increased from 240,000 tons to 400,000 tons per year, the chairman said commenting on the province's copper production plans.

He further added 25 locations with the total area of 46,000 square kilometers have been chosen for large-scale mining exploration in Kerman.
