Iran`s Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade said the ministry plans to revive 2,000 production units across the country by the end of the current Iranian year (ends on March 21, 2022).

1,600 stagnant industrial units are located inside industrial towns and 400 closed units are located outside these towns, Saeed Zarandi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“Last year, over 1,500 stagnant units returned to the production cycle,” he said. “the responsibility of production and industrial units` revival was transferred to the Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO).”

Zarandi emphasized the need to use the existing capacities in the production sector.

He went on to say that the energy supply is an important issue for the production sector.

To develop investment in the production, he said that there is a need for a serious movement to supply electricity, water, and gas to the industrial towns.

Zarandi said that Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) should also adopt a new model of investment and financing for this issue.
