Iranian president stresses need to accelerate clearance of goods stuck in customs

The Iranian President said that speeding up the clearance of priority goods from customs is one of the vital necessities of the country.

The 213th meeting of the government's economic coordination headquarters was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of President Hassan Rouhani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

During the meeting, a report presented on the latest situation the country's customs, as well as the stock of basic goods in warehouses of customs. It was offered for quick clearance of the stuck goods and their distribution to the consumer market.

The President stated that facilitating the clearance of goods from the country's customs is one of the important priorities of the government.

Referring to the launch of a comprehensive trade system, Rouhani said that considering the abundant inventory of goods in the country's customs, the minimization of clearance time, is one of the vital necessities of the country.

“The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade obliged to supply basic goods and the needs of the country's production sector in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture and the Central,” he noted.

Rouhani added that despite sanctions, the Central Bank has made great efforts to provide the required foreign currency and provide it to importers of livestock inputs.
