TEHRAN, Iran, June 2
Trend:
Iran's overall exports have increased in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), according to customs data, head of the Iran-Turkey Joint Chamber of Commerce Mehrdad Saadat Dehghan told Trend.
Referring to the increase in trade relations between Iran and Turkey in the current Iranian year (started on March 21), Saadat Dehghan said that the Vienna talks, which were aimed at lifting sanctions, have had an effect in this regard.
"The Turkish side is also waiting for the outcome of these talks and the situation with sanctions on Iran" he said.
Saadat Dehghan went on to say that the relationship between the businessmen of the two countries is gradually improving.
He also expressed hope that the sanctions on Iran will be lifted soon.
Saadat Dehghan added that the efforts of the Joint Chamber of Commerce and the contacts established through it, as well as the joint commission meetings held between Iran and Turkey last month, helped boost the trade relations of the two sides.
"In addition, the change in Iran's foreign exchange policy in recent months also had an effect on the increased trade," he said.
Saadat Dehghan noted that as foreign exchange policies became clearer, exporters were able to set a roadmap for 2021, and as a result, the foreign trade issues have largely been resolved.
"The way to save our country is to develop exports," he said. "We have no other solution for economic problems in the country unless we develop exports."
He said that Iran has loyal customers worldwide, in the world, but the situation has become difficult due to sanctions.
