The Iranian Parliament has approved the water transfer plan from the Sea of Oman to Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
The plan is passed by 170 in favor, 31 against and seven abstained votes. Ministry of energy and the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade will be obligated to implement the plan.
Following the law, the two ministries should attract domestic or foreign investment for water transfer, desalination, and harvesting metal extracts from the Sea of Oman.
The priority of the plan is to transfer water to Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The government will approve the executive regulation of the law in three months.
