TEHRAN, Iran, September 10. Iran is interested to attract foreign investment and joint projects after a possible agreement for the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, said the Director General of Iran’s Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers Abbas Hashemi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The policy-making for the home appliance industry should start after possible breakthroughs for the revival of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said adding that the private sector should be more involved in the development of the industry.
Hashemi pointed out the necessity to prepare for the investment
of foreign brands in Iran’s home appliance industry.
Iran’s annual home appliance export has been $250 million in recent
years and domestic companies have destination markets in the
region.
According to the official, the country has planned to increase home appliance production to 18 million sets in the next Iranian year (starting March 21, 2023) and cooperation with foreign investors could promote the industry and export.
