BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. Iran's imports of products from Kazakhstan decreased by 51 percent in value and 51.5 percent in weight for the 11th month of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.
According to statistics, Iran purchased over 129,000 tons of
merchandise from Kazakhstan worth $58.3 million over the course of
11 months.
Last year, Iran imported 265,000 tons of items from Kazakhstan
valued at more than $119 million, and the indicators show that Iran
primarily imported agricultural products, various forms of
machinery, and other items from Kazakhstan.
The statistics specify that Iran's imports of items from Kazakhstan
totaled 4,800 tons worth $2 million during the 11th month (January
21 through February 19, 2024).
Hence, based on the Iranian Customs Administration statistics, Iran
imported approximately 35.8 million tons of merchandise valued at
$59.9 billion during the eleventh month. Iran's imports climbed by
11.1 percent in value and 6.4 percent in weight over the same time
last year.
Iran mainly attaches significance to the import of products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on the import of goods produced in the country.
