Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan increased by 35.4 percent in value and 36.6 percent in weight during 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 2023 through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan for 11 months amounted to 315,000 tons worth about $298 million.

However, in the same period last year, Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan amounted to about 231,000 tons worth about $220 million.

Statistics show that during the said period, mainly petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, cotton, silk fabrics, and various equipment were exchanged in trade between Iran and Tajikistan.

The information shows that for the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2024), the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 28,900 tons valued at $27 million.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, Iran's trade turnover during the 11 months amounted to approximately $139 billion. The trade turnover increased by 2.7 percent in value terms compared to the same period last year.
