BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Iran's thermal power plant (TPPH) electricity production increased by 4 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), deputy executive director of Iran's Thermal Power Production Company (TPPH), Naser Eskandari said, Trend reports.
According to Eskandari, Iran's thermal power facilities produced
346 million megawatts of electricity last year.
Eskandari went on to say that combined cycle plants generated 200
million megawatts of power, steam plants 73 million megawatts, and
gas-fired plants 63 million megawatts. As he noted, last year, 99
percent of Iran's thermal power facilities were ready to provide
electricity.
Futher, he mentioned that, repairs will be carried out at the
country's thermal power facilities this year to ensure maximum
electricity generation.
Note that, all of Iran's power plants (thermal, water, renewable,
nuclear, and so on) have a combined capacity of more than 92,000
megawatt-hours.
Of these, 82 percent are thermal power plants. Iran has 617 units at 135 thermal power plants. The country's TPPs have a power generation potential of more than 74.200 megawatt-hours.
