BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), Iran's deputy minister of economy and finance and director general of Iran's Customs Administration Mohammad Rezvanifar said, Trend reports.

According to Rezvanifar, Iran's non-oil exports fell 8.87 percent in value terms but rose 9.82 percent in weight terms. He noted that Iran's biggest exports last year were liquefied gas for $3.09 billion, propane at $3 billion, and fuel oil worth $2.1 billion.

Based on the customs official, Iran shipped non-oil products worth $13.9 billion to China last year, around $9.2 billion to Iraq, $6.6 billion to the UAE, $4.1 billion to Turkey, and $2.17 billion to India. The five countries indicated above received 73.1 percent of Iran's non-oil exports in value terms and 74.5 percent in weight terms.

To note, Iran has been trying to increase non-oil trade with neighboring countries for many years. Iran notes that by exporting products to neighboring countries, it can easily avoid sanctions imposed by the U.S. and Western countries and that non-oil exports are more profitable for the country.
