Non-oil exports via Iran's Hormuzgan Province customs hike

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. The export of non-oil products through the customs of Hormuzgan Province, located in southern Iran, increased by 5 percent in value terms and 35 percent in weight terms in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), controller of customs of Iran's Hormuzgan region Mohammad Reza Aghai said, Trend reports.

According to him, 43.5 million tons of non-oil products worth $12 billion were exported through the customs of the Hormuzgan region last year.

According to Agahi, the majority of last year's exports were oil, iron and steel, rubber, copper, and other commodities. The items were primarily exported to China, the UAE, Oman, India, and Indonesia, and almost 9 million tons of merchandise valued at $21.7 billion were imported via Hormuzgan customs last year.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Customs Administration reported that the country's non-oil exports in the previous Iranian year totaled more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Iran's non-oil exports fell 8.87 percent in value and climbed 9.82 percent in weight over the previous year.

Iran's Customs Administration figures reveal that the country's imports in the last Iranian year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. Product imports increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
