Iran commissions port facilities in Bushehr Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Port facilities, ships, and other objects worth 10.3 trillion rials (about $27.8 million) were commissioned in Iran's southern Bushehr province on June 2, Trend reports via the country's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Thus, four search-and-rescue ships worth about 5.45 trillion rials (about $14.7 million) were commissioned.

Breakwaters were commissioned to develop Kangan port, for which 2.4 trillion rials (about $6.47 million) were spent.

A new bridge has been built and a road has been constructed for access to the port of Negin, for which 1.75 trillion rials (about $4.72 million) were spent.

A platform has been created for ships to dock at Mohammad Ameri port, with a budget of 400 billion rials (about $1.08 million).

Repair work was carried out to protect various objects and supplies in Bushehr port, for which 297 billion rials (about $801,000) were spent.

Additionally, 150 trillion rials (about $405 million) were spent on 27 facilities in the ports located in Iran's Hormuzgan, Khuzistan, Bushehr, Sistan, Baluchistan, Mazandaran and Gilan provinces.

To note, the current capacity of Iranian ports is more than 285 million tons. Iran is taking steps to increase the capacity of ports by 500 million tons.
