Iran Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani harshly criticized British Prime Minister David Cameron's comment on Iran's support for terrorist groups.

In his address to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Cameron said that Tehran's support for terrorist organizations needs to change.

In reaction to the comment, Larijani said that Cameron's comments show that the Britain is anxious about ISIL's activities in Iraq and Syria, because the United Kingdom, itself, helped creating the group, Iran's Fars News Agency reported on September 27.

"The British prime minister's comments seem to be rooted in his arrogance, but in fact it's rooted in the UK's fear of the terrorist group," the official explained.

He went on to note that the West needs assistance in its fight against the ISIL group.

"Instead of accepting your mistakes, you are talking in a tone that won't help you get assistance to meet your needs," Larijani noted.
