Iran unveils new systems for use in naval service

High-ranking Iranian officials Deputy Army Commander Brigadier General Abdul-Rahim Mousavi and Navy Commander Rare Admiral Habibollah Sayyari have unveiled the country's latest achievements , ISNA news agency reported Nov 23.

In particular, the officials presented new systems that will be used in the country's naval service. Among them - a simulator system for midget submarines, a navigation system and a radar system.

Iran claims that it has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment.

Earlier in May Admiral Sayyari said that Iran is currently working on manufacturing a number of new destroyers, including the third generation of the Jamaran destroyer.

On Nov 19 the commander expressed hope that the homemade Sahand destroyer will be launched by the end of current fiscal year (March 2016). Sahand is expected to be twice as powerful as the Jamaran destroyer.
