Baku, Azerbaijan, July 16

By Khalid Kazimov – Trend:

Turkey has reopened its Gurbulak border crossing, the main customs point for traffic from Iran to Turkey.

Iranian Consul General to Turkey’s Erzurum Hossein Qassemi has said that the Turkish officials have reopened the border crossing following an instruction by Ankara, IRNA news agency reported July 16.

Qassemi added that only the Gurbulak border crossing has been reopened and the other border crossings along Iran-Turkey border are still closed.

Turkey’s Gurbulak is located opposite to Iranian checkpoint of Bazargan in northwest of the Islamic Republic.

Turkey closed the border crossing July 15 night following a coup attempt by a group of Turkish servicemen who failed to seize the power.
