The Iranian Army has unveiled 5 new products ahead of the Army Day in Iran.
The products included Baher 23mm sniper rifle, Shaher 14.4mm sniper rifle, a superlight, tactical, rough-terrain vehicle, an armed robot, and a wheeled tank named Aqareb, IRNA news agency reported April 15.
The Baher rifle weighs 24 kilograms and has a range of 3 kilometers.
The rough-terrain vehicle is able to travel at 100 kmph on rough surfaces and at 130 kmph on gravel roads. It can also be equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun.
The armed robot can be remotely guided and is able to carry out reconnaissance and battle operations, carry a load of 600 kilograms, and be equipped with a machine gun or defense missile.
The wheeled tank comes with a 90 mm cannon and is equipped with state-of-the-art fire control systems.
Iran frequently shows off its military achievements.
The country tapped domestic knowhow in improving its military equipment and weapons under international pressure to secure its territorial integrity.
The country asserts its weapons are in the service of regional security, serve only defense, and will threaten no country.
