Two people were killed during a shooting incident in Dezful city, located in Iran's western province of Khuzestan.
At least two people also were injured in the incident which took place last night, Iran's Fars news agency reported Oct. 17.
Reportedly unknown gunmen on a car opened fire with automatic weapons on a group of people who were holding a ritual mourning for the third Shia imam Imam Hussein.
The masked assailants fled the scene following the raid.
Habibollah Asafi, the governor general of Dezful said that the security forces have launched an operation to arrest the gunmen.
