Baku, Azerbaijan, July 19
By Emil Ilgar – Trend:
Iranian parliament’s speaker Ali Larijani has said there is no way but retaliation to the “harassment” by the US and the latest declaration of UN secretary general on Iran’s nuclear issue.
“Harassment actions are so numerous that leave no way but retaliation,” IRNA quoted Larijani as saying July 20.
He said that since Iran and P5+1 (US, UK, France, Russia, China, plus Germany) reached the nuclear deal, the US House of Representatives has passed 52 bills and sanctions related to Iran, mostly against the spirit of the nuclear deal.
Larijani’s remarks come days after Reuters quoted a confidential report by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as saying that Iran's ballistic missile launches were not consistent with the constructive spirit of the JCPOA, aka nuclear deal.
Larijani also urged the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) to submit to the parliament a bill for launching uranium enrichment plants at various needed enrichment degrees.
The speaker also said there is no ban on Iran's missile program, according to the nuclear deal, and also according to UN Security Council Resolution 2231, Iran shouldn't develop ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
