TEHRAN, Iran, April 12. The First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Mokhber announced the country's readiness to conduct a comprehensive cooperation plan between Iran and Qatar, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Mohammad Mokhber made his remarks during the second high-ranking meeting, attended by Ministers of Energy Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Roads and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi, Sports and Youth Hamid Sajjadi, Islamic Culture and Guidance Esmaili, Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ezzatollah Zarghami, to review the opportunity of FIFA World Cup 2022 for Iran.
Mokhber said the Iranian private sector must seize this tourism opportunity.
Tehran- Doha Joint cooperation during the major sporting event offers a unique opportunity to strengthen the long-term relations between the two countries, said the vice president.
He called the Iranian private sector to hold exhibitions in Qatar, provide food items and attract the FIFA World Cup 2022 visitors to Iran.
He further asked the head of the Supreme Council of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones to quickly prepare the required infrastructural of the Iranian islands, including Kish, for foreign tourists during the major sporting event.
Qatari and Iranian officials are scheduled to meet this week to discuss cooperation during the major sporting event.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has proposed a visa scheme enabling the entry of the FIFA World Cup 2022 visitors to Tehran with visas free of charge.
