( Civil ) - Ten lawmakers have established a new parliamentary faction. Its members are mostly independent parliamentarians elected in single-mandate constituencies.
They include MP Valeri Gelbakhiani, the chairman of the faction, lawmakers Gocha Jojua, Giorgi Tsulaia, Valerian Izoria, Viktor Japaridze, Levan Gzirishvili, Merab Khurtsidze (former member of the ruling party), Arsen Mgeladze and Temur Dolishvili (formerly of the Labor Party).
The chairman of the new faction said on October 19 that the group would mainly focus on economic and agricultural issues. He also said that his members endorsed the joint manifesto recently issued by ten opposition parties.
