PACE monitors meet shut down TV executives of Georgia
( Civil ) - Two rapporteurs from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) met with Bidzina Baratashvili, the Imedi TV managing director and Nino Jangirashvili chief of Kavkasia TV news programs.
The both television station have been shut down by the authorities on November 7. Imedi TV's equipment was destroyed in a police raid on the television station.
Meanwhile, Terry Davis, the Secretary General of Council of Europe said he welcomed decision to hold snap presidential elections in Georgia, but also added that Georgia should also lift the state of emergency and restore freedom of expression and association.
