Georgian Unified Opposition Threatens Authorities

Georgia, Tbilisi, 22 February / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia / If the Georgian authorities do not stick to their word, then either us, or them will remain in this country, a leader of the Unified Opposition Giorgi Khaindrava said at the demonstration in front of the Parliament, on 22 February.

According to Khaindrava, the Director General of the Public Television Tamar Kintsurashvili was supposed to be fired by 26 February, the Chair of the Central Election Committee Levan Tarkhnishvili by 15 March, and also the amendments to the Election Code were supposed to be passed- to enable the fair and democratic elections. All the political prisoners, detained in result of the 7 November events, were supposed to be released.

"We will not stand being cheated once more," Khaindrava stressed.
