Georgia Toughens Visa Issue to Russian Citizens
Georgia, Tbilisi, 30 August / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ Advisor-envoy of the Russian Embassy in Georgia A.Smaga was invited to the Georgian Foreign Ministry on 29 August, 2008.
According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, Director of the Russian Department attached to the Georgian Foreign Ministry I.Toronjadze submitted a note to the envoy, which envisages since 8 September 2008 issue of visas to Russian citizens only at Georgia's diplomatic representation offices and consular establishments abroad.
Entrance visas to Georgia will be issued only on the basis of invitation original for the Russian citizens who want to enter Georgia to meet with their family, for humanitarian purpose, as well as on official/business visits.
