The Georgian Grain Producers Association does not rule out a hike in bread price in the country. On world markets, the price of wheat rose by 10 percent, which could serve as the impetus for the increase.

The chairman said that if rise in world prices continues the country can not avoid rise in bread prices. He said the price of bread depends on the wheat crop in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, and on current projections, only in Russia wheat harvest could decrease from 125 to 85 million tons.

Grain Producers Association says that in case of increase in world prices, flour costs will rise by 5-10 tetri. However, according to the chairman, it will not affect the cost of bread, as flour is 60 percent of the ingredients, and everything will depend on fuel prices, taxes and other factors.

Today, a sack of flour on the domestic market costs 31-32 lari ($ 1 = 1.63 lari).
