The Georgian government will invest 4 billion lari ($ 1 = 1.64 lari) in the development of agriculture, Prime Minister of Georgia Vano Merabishvili said on Monday at a public meeting.
"We will provide every village in Georgia with water, good roads and the Internet. " he said.
Merabishvili said the country's agriculture will receive a powerful impetus to development by strengthening the technical base and irrigation.
"We will also buy 2000 new tractors, so that each farmer could use the technology in the processing of the land" he said.
The prime minister said the infusions of investment in the coming year will double the country's agricultural production.
Agriculture is a priority direction for us, he said.
