Georgian Defense Minister Dmitri Shashkin met with French senators.
Member of the commission of Foreign Affairs and Defense Forces headed the delegation, which is in Georgia on a three-day visit, Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend.
At the meeting the sides discussed issues of regional security, cooperation between the two countries in defense and Georgia's participation in the mission of ISAF.
The conversation also touched upon the ongoing reforms in defense sphere and future plans.
Recall that the French senators arrived in Georgia on Monday. The purpose of the visit is to familiarize with the situation in the country. Senators have already met with the Speaker of Parliament David Bakradze.
