Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug.9 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia /
The cause of an accident in the Georgian power system was a system error, Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri told reporters commenting on an hour power cutoff across the country.
He said power was cut off in Georgia at 13:06, and 20 minutes were needed to address the accident. However, Tbilisi received electricity only after an hour.
Thousands of people were stuck on the subway during the power outage in Tbilisi, who were urgently evacuated to the surface.
Electricity supply throughout Georgia was then resumed.
