U.S. President congratulates Georgian PM

U.S. President Barack Obama sent a congratulatory letter to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland said after conveying the good wishes to the Prime Minister.

U.S. President Barack Obama sent a congratulatory letter to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland said after conveying the good wishes to the Prime Minister.

As Norland told reporters after the meeting, it was an honour to convey the congratulatory letter from his president to the Georgian prime minister. He said Obama wished every success to Ivanishvili as head of the government.

Norlad also expressed the hope that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States will continue and that the U.S. will further support the country's aspiration for NATO.

The Georgian Parliament approved the prime minister and the new government on Oct.25. On the same day Ivanishvili held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kutaisi and discussed important issues.
