Anzor Chubinidze has been appointed head of the Special State Protection Service.

According to the government's official webpage, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili signed a decree to dismiss the head of the Special State Protection Service Teimuraz Janashia and appoint Chubinidze to the post.

It should be stressed that the service passed from the Georgian president to Prime Minister's subordination. This amendment was adopted by the Parliament within limiting the presidential powers.

The Personal Protection Service remains under the president's subordination.
