Another group of Georgian soldiers will leave for Afghanistan on Friday. According to the Ministry of Defense, military farewell ceremony will be held on the territory of the Fourth Infantry Brigade in Vaziani.
"Military servants of the 33rd and 42nd Battalions of the third and fourth infantry brigades will participate in the ISAF mission, held under the auspices of NATO," according to the statement of the Ministry of Defence.
Georgia participates in the NATO operation in Afghanistan. The contingent consists of 1,700 men, rotation of which is undertaken in stages.
20 Georgian soldiers were killed and more than 100 injured in operations in Afghanistan.
Georgia intends to stay in Afghanistan and train local military servants following the withdrawal of NATO troops.
