A member of the Political Council of the ruling coalition of Georgia, 'Georgian Dream', Eka Beselia does not exclude the possibility that there may be several candidates for president.

"The number of candidates is not limited. There will be a discussion, a meeting in the majority format, and a meeting with the Prime Minister," Beselia said on Wednesday before a meeting of the Coalition's Political Council.

According to her, the candidate for the position of the President of Georgia should be an experienced person who can communicate with various political groups, execute the duties of the office and uphold the constitution. Beselia believes that it would be good if the next Georgian president were to be a woman.

Beselia said that along with other issues on the agenda, the issue of who the presidential candidate from the Georgian Dream Party will be also be may also be discussed.

Member of the Political Council of 'Georgian Dream', Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Manana Kobakhidze did not confirm the information released in connection with the alleged presidential candidates from the coalition.

According to her, possible candidacies will be discussed at the coalition's meeting.

Georgian media released information that potential candidates for the presidency are Kakha Kaladze, Vakhtang Khmaladze, Salome Zurabishvili and Armaz Akhvlediani.

Presidential elections in Georgia will be held in the second half of 2013.
