Three Georgian soldiers were killed in a attack of suicide-bomber on the base of the 42nd Battalion of the Georgian contingent in Afghanistan on Monday.

Several Georgian military were wounded, which are now in the hospital minister of Defense Irakli Alasania stated at a special briefing on Monday night.

The minister stressed that corporal Alexander Kvitsinadze, corporal Vladimir Shanava and Sergeant Zviad Davitadze were killed.

"The attack has combined character, a suicide bomber in a car. As result of attack three people killed and several injured. Our military managed to repel the attack and now the situation is under control of our military," minister said, adding that he discussed with the battalion commander, Major Kalandadze.

Alasania said that the Georgian military conducted themselves professionally and were able to avoid big losses. He noted that every family who has loss today, was notified by the Ministry of Defence. Minister expressed his condolences to the family and relatives of the dead soldiers.

Alasania said that the Georgian military base will be relocated.

Total 22 Georgian military were killed in Afghanistan during the time.
