Former Speaker of the Supreme Council of Georgia in the administration of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, leader of the Union of Traditionalists, Akaki Asatiani starts the battle for the presidency and hopes for elections in fair conditions.

"Based on the current situation, the reality requires me to take part in the presidential elections. Together we must develop solutions to problems and try to implement them. Unfortunately, I have not yet heard of this from any of the presidential candidates," he said at a press conference on Friday.

Asatiani plans to start an active campaign in September. He will submit an application to the CEC next week.
