Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish military cooperation discussed during Tbilisi summit

The trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan in the military sphere, was discussed during the Tbilisi summit held on May 6, Irina Imerlishvili, Georgian Security Council Secretary told journalists on May 7.

"We have bilateral military cooperation both with Turkey and Azerbaijan. But the Tbilisi summit was focused on the trilateral cooperation in this sphere. The three countries' defense ministers closely cooperate, however it is in bilateral format for the time being," she said.

Imerlishvili went on to add that during the trilateral summit, the parties re-emphasized that the current relations between the three countries will not only continue, but also become closer and more intense.

A trilateral meeting of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, on May 6.
